Library Theodoret Questions on Exodus
Questions on Exodus 46: “And he shall serve him forever”
Why is it added, “and he shall serve him forever,” when human life is clearly finite?
From this it is clear that “age” (aiōn) is not everywhere indicative of the unlimited, but sometimes also signifies a defined time. So also the blessed David says, “Our age is for the enlightenment of your face.” Thus he named human life.
