Library Theodoret Compendium of Heretical Fables

On Artemon

A certain Artemon also—whom some name Artemas—held opinions about the God of all things much as we do, saying that he himself is the maker of the universe; but he said that the Lord Jesus Christ was a mere man, born of a virgin, yet greater in virtue than the prophets. These things, he claimed, the apostles also preached, misinterpreting the sense of the divine Scriptures, while those after them, he said, made Christ a god although he is not God.
