Library Theodoret Questions on Exodus
Questions on Exodus 37: “You shall have no other gods besides me”
How should we understand “You shall have no other gods besides me”?
Those who confess one essence of the Trinity keep the law of the divine voice. For they do not endure to deify anything else besides the divine nature. But those who wear the blight of Arius and Eunomius openly transgress the divine law: confessing the Son as God, yet calling him created and alien to the divine essence. For when God says, “You shall have no other gods besides me,” these introduce another God.
