Arius

Arius of Alexandria (c. 256–336). Presbyter whose teaching on the Son’s generation sparked the Arian controversy; most of his writings survive only in fragments.

• Thalia c. 322–323 Θάλεια Surviving fragments of Arius’s Thalia (“Banquet”), preserved chiefly in quotations by Athanasius of Alexandria. The original poem is lost.
