eloah

God. A singular Hebrew noun for God, common in Job.

Forms

  • אֱלוֹהַּ eloah H433. Singular. Frequent in Job.
  • אֱלוֹהַּ eloah Also written אֱלֹהַּ in some lines.

אֱלוֹהַּ is a singular noun for God. It stands beside אֵל and אֱלֹהִים as another Hebrew word this Bible may print God. Job uses it often.

Job 3:4 says, “Let not God regard it from above.” Job 19:26 says, “then I will see God.” Deuteronomy 32:15 speaks of “the God who made him,” and Deuteronomy 32:17 of “demons, which were no God.”

Biblical Aramaic אֱלָהּ is the matching Aramaic noun, a different Strong’s number.

In this Bible, “God,” “god,” and “gods” link here only in the verses where the Hebrew is this noun.
